Our Online Game Development Workshop hosted on Twitch was compressed version of our 6 week programme, covering the essentials of all elements, from Industry Roles along with their technical responsibilities, to the full Software Development Lifecycle. Some of our face to face workshops will follow the same structure, but streaming allowed us to run a longer *9 hour* session, and cover more than we would normally do in a 6 hour day workshop
Our Games Design Workshop hosted at Bromley Library was our first general public event in years, and it went pretty well! Attendees got to go through the process of coming up with an idea, refining it, and experience the first hand challenges of a Games Designer, a role often overlooked or confused with an Artist. Each attendee walked away with their own characters, environments and simple stories, developed using our guidelines, which they can then go forth and continue to develop on their own, or come back to get more help via our other workshops.
We spent 3 Weeks at Kingsdale Foundation School teaching students about Games Development, focusing on design but also helping them develop their technical skills, giving them the freedom to modify game mechanics, design their own levels or model their own assets, all the while learning the Unity Interface and more about what it's like to be a Games Developer
12 Hour Games Development was a digital Games Jam where Omar built a simple Game live on Twitch, while also providing advice and guidance to other developers. Here is one mini-game he put together live to help a student with their Game Design Course, showing them how to implement basic side-scrolling features before returning to his main project.
One of our proudest moments as a Games Studio was display Battle Drive at EGX 2023. Although we originally had plans to launch a simple Arena-style gauntlet in early 2024, the overwhelmingly positive feedback we got convinced us to dedicate some more time in refining the product into something more well rounded. Now we're looking to showcase the new version in mid 2025!
Battle Drive was originally a product of our first Games Design Workshop, and while it's evolved greatly in both concept and appearance, the passion and excitement of the original concept remains, and looking back on the journey so far only encourages us further as we push forwards.
Omar does regular Twitch sessions on Games Development, Design, Programming, Storytelling and the Software Development Lifecycle
